Coach M.J. Cagumbay Tumamac, popularly known as Xi Zuq, is a graduate of UP Diliman with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Masters in Philippine Studies. He was a high rater when he took the 2012 LET. He has been a LET coach for Filipino and Social Studies since then until the present.
He is a children’s storybook writer. He has written several books, the first of which was Ngumiti si Andoy (which won the Salanga Writer’s Award in 2013), Supremo, and a Filipino translation of Peter Pan. His collection of poems “Mga Mungkahi ng Pagdanas ng Dahas Mula sa Maitum” won him the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino’s distinction as Talaang Ginto Makata ng Taon 2019.

He is a reading advocate and is part of advocacy groups with thrusts varying from establishing functional libraries to promoting the art of storytelling.
To create quality books for Filipino kids and teens in the different Philippine languages, he founded Aklat Alamid based in General Santos City.
With all these accomplishments, Coach MJ is still easily mistaken to be a college student.
